Grizzly bear petition for local residents

We are urging residents of Okanogan and Chelan counties who want to see grizzly bears restored to the North Cascades to sign this petition and demonstrate local support.

After more than a year of inactivity, the National Park Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service reopened the public comment period for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for grizzly bear restoration in 2019.

However, in a disappointing decision by the Trump Administration, the North Cascades Grizzly Bear Restoration Environmental Impact Statement was terminated in 2020. But we’re not giving up on North Cascades grizzly bear recovery, and we believe the Endangered Species Act will prevail in the end.

We’re sharing a petition for residents of Okanogan, Chelan and other counties neighboring the North Cascades to express support. View comments from the 200+ residents who have signed the letter here.

If you live in the area, please read and sign our petition below!

Residents of other neighboring counties and areas in and around the North Cascades are also welcome to sign this letter.
